VEGA | ARTS & BASEMENT CPH x GOLDEN DAYS PRESENTS: RAVE - a performance spectacle by Helle Siljeholm
September 9, 2020 @Basement CPH
act I 15.00 - 17.30
Act II 18.00 - 20.30
act III 21.00 - 00.00
RAVE is a 9-hour meta-rave, a hybrid work, a live total installation, performance and concert in three acts, created by the Norwegian stage and visual artist Helle Siljeholm in collaboration with figures from the rave and art scene in Copenhagen, Berlin, Oslo and Stockholm .
The work is an attempt to emphasize through art that rave culture contains a freedom and a search for it, which is about ownership of the mind, body and voice in the midst of the alienating dynamics of society. RAVE is a meditation and speculation about the time we live in, and what can a meaningful live experience be - or could - be? What is presence and what is togetherness, and how can we create and experience in new ways. An artistic search for different forms of transgression and community, based on the rave culture.
RAVE- a performance spectacle by Helle Siljeholm will unfold as a choreographed landscape that mixes installation art, performance, conversation, concert and dance.
A commisioned work from VEGA | ARTS in collaboration with Basement CPH and Golden Days Festival - Forever Young.
