Siste skrik – an art auction
Performance, 60 min. Monsters of reality- mimesis machine at Ibsenfestival/Nationaltheatre, Oslo. Curated by: Siri Forberg

The art auction Siste Skrik (eng. the last scream) refers to a theatre script written by composer Per Reidarson, entitled ”Siste skrik”. The play was produced by the Norwegian National Theatre in 1943. ”Siste skrik” was written in support of the Nazi regime ́s ban on degenerate art (Entartete Kunst). It won 1st prize in a script competition announced by the Norwegian Cultural Department in 1942. It remains one of the biggest financial awards given a theatre script in Norwegian History.

Works at auction by norwegian artists: Dag Erik Elgin, Karin Erixon, Fadlabi and Inga Sund Hofset. All works were sold. A video of Norway ́s artistic scene during WW2 based on archive footage, was created and edited for the performance. Assistants of auctioneer: Ksenia Aksenova and Christine Kjellberg. Thanks to Blomquist Kunsthandel.
